Shane was raised in a Christian home in Independence, MO. His parents made the decision to home educated him and his siblings when home education was not popular or well known. He has always has a love for the word of God and a desire to help families be all that they can be. This was the beginning of a way of life for Shane that continues in his own family today.
Christy was raised in Knoxville, TN. She had a much different life than Shane. Her parents divorced in the mid 70’s when divorce was not nearly as prevalent as it is today. After living in the world for many years, she came to know Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Shane and Christy met at a Christian University in West Tennessee, where Shane studied Business Administration with a marketing emphasis and a Vocational Ministries degree, and Christy studied Social Work. They both desired to attend grad school, was accepted into a Marriage and Family Therapy program, but after one semester discovered that it wasn’t what they expected.
Shane and Christy are madly in love with each other. They have been married 21 years and have 4 incredible children ranging in age from 19 to 9. They live on 10 acres in the countryside in a community near Kansas City, MO.
They have a long time desire to work with families, to strengthen marriages, and to teach parents how to walk alongside their children, mentoring them and training them intentionally for the days ahead.
Are you married? Maybe you are. Maybe you’re not. Are you a parent? Or, maybe you’re single.
Maybe you made mistakes along the way and you realize that it’s time to remedy those mistakes. Maybe you think it’s too late. Dear reader, as long as there is breath, it’s not too late. There is HOPE.
There’s nothing that says you have to stay in the cycle. Just because your parents divorced, or you were a rebellious teen doesn’t mean you or your children have to follow in your footsteps.
Repentance is never far away. If you desire change, turn away from those destructive patterns and CHANGE! Will it be easy? NO!!! But with the Lord’s help, you know, it can be done!
